Maulana Makki Al Hijazi Biography
Maulana Muhammad Makki Al-Hijazi, born in 1935, is a distinguished Islamic scholar renowned for his extensive teachings in Masjid Al-Haram, Makkah.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Sheikh Mohammad Khair Makki, who taught Quran and Sunnah for 40 years in the same sacred mosque, Maulana Makki has dedicated his life to Islamic education and da’wah.
Early Life and Family
Raised in Makkah Mukarramah, Maulana Makki was immersed in an environment rich in Islamic scholarship.
His father, Sheikh Mohammad Khair Makki, was a prominent scholar, which greatly influenced Maulana Makki’s upbringing and passion for Islamic studies.
Education
After completing his formal education in Quran and Sunnah, Maulana Makki began teaching Tafsir ibn Kathir in Urdu, and Tafsir al-Jalalayn and Sunan al-Tirmidhi in Arabic at Masjid Al-Haram in 1970.
His lectures have been instrumental in educating both local and international students.
