Ian Anthony Boyne, C.D. [March 13, 1957 - December 18, 2017][1][2][3][4] was a veteran Jamaican journalist, a pastor and family man.
He was known as "The Father of Positive Journalism,”[1] for his emphasis on empowerment, inspiration to achievement and self-reliance. His Sunday Gleaner Opinion Columns were incisive, erudite and intellectually sophisticated, giving readers a view of someone who was a Caribbean journalistic polymath.
In 2009, he was awarded the nation’s fifth highest honour when he was the recipient of the Commander of the Order of Distinction [CD] for his contribution to journalism.[5]
